• Successfully represented and prevented any charges being filed against a client who was under federal criminal investigation by the Department of Homeland Security for allegations of laundering illegal contraband via cryptocurrency (i.e. Bitcoin) on the Dark Web. 

• NiaLena Caravasos was interviewed and quoted in an article entitled “Bitcoin: The New Way to Receive Payment, Or Trouble in The Making?” and asked whether it is prudent to accept payment in the form of cryptocurrencies or whether doing so could spell trouble for the person receiving the payments and also possibly the person making the payments. NiaLena addressed various legal issues surrounding the anonymity of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoins, whether criminal activity was the source of the Bitcoins, IRS reporting requirements, receiving and holding client funds, lack of insurance on Bitcoins, etc. (The full article is available here.)
